A personal blog on the Canadian pesticide industry and other pet peeves and interests

My how time flies! Poppycock

This quasi isolation for the last 8 weeks has started to eat away at my brain cells.  You would have thought I’d written 50 rants by now, but when everyone is locked in their houses, even the government folks, there ain’t much to rant about besides Covid 19.

But trust me, there worse folks than myself out there, who’s lack of brain cells put them in zombie mode.  Most of them south of the border.  We need a wall around Michigan.

But gawd does time drag and drag.  I have now logged 1100 hours of CNN and Dr. Sanjay Gupta!

Though the world is turned upside down right now, many of the PCO’s are staying relatively busy.  Probably the average number I have heard is “down 20%”.    Which surprisingly isn’t bad considering all the contracts, tenders, government housing etc make up 60% of the business overall.

It might also be we are seeing some good movement of ants both indoors and out, which since non-existent last year could be providing some up side.

Plus many of the eateries have done the Ubereats route (they can never find my damn house. never), and even though they aren’t getting rich, the kitchen is open.  And the good PCO has made an arrangement to continue service, maybe less often or at a discounted rate, but there is still business.

Keep plugging away folks, this summer may be a good year for the industry with insect upsides to offset the Covid downside.

We can only hope.

Gotta run, Wolf Blitzer is on scorching the POTUS.
